This is what I am going to tell you in this article. For selecting the most powerful 150cc bike, I have considered all the 150cc, 155cc, and 160cc bikes available in the country.

How To Select The Powerful 150cc Bike?
Before we look at the most powerful 150cc bikes in India, the question that needs to be answered is: On what basis can we say that one bike is more powerful than the other?
Is it the horsepower that decides it?
Yes, horsepower definitely is the parameter that tells us how powerful the bike is. However, it shouldn’t be the only parameter that we should take into account.
The other parameter that we should take into account is the weight of the motorcycle.
If the weight of the bike is on the heavier side then the on-road performance of the bike will not be that good. Because pulling a heavy weight will require higher power.
And a bike with less weight and less power can beat a bike with high power and heavyweight.
Therefore the parameter that we should be looking at is the power-to-weight ratio. This states how much power a bike produces with respect to its weight.
So a 150cc bike with the highest power-to-weight ratio will be considered the most powerful 150cc bike.

Most Powerful 150cc Bike In India
Now, let’s look at the most powerful 150cc, 155cc, and 160cc bikes in India in brief.
1. Yamaha R15 V4
Yamaha R15 V4 is the most powerful 150cc bike in India right now. It comes with the highest power-to-weight ratio in its segment i.e. 0.13 bhp/kg.
This bike is powered by a 155cc liquid-cooled engine. That puts out a maximum power of 18.1 Bhp @10,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 14.2 Nm @7500 rpm. This engine is the most powerful 155cc engine in the country and it produces the maximum power.
Combine the power output of R15 V4 with its lightweight of 141 kgs and you get the highest power-to-weight ratio.
Since it is a fully faired sports bike, therefore, it can achieve the highest top speed that no other 150cc, 155c, or 160cc bike can achieve. This bike can achieve a top speed of 150+ kmph which I think even 200cc bikes struggle to achieve.
So if performance is what you want then Yamaha R15 V4 ticks all the boxes.
However, since it is the most powerful 150cc bike, therefore, it cost way more than other 150cc bikes as well. The on-road price of this bike goes around 2.10 lakhs and the R15M variant can cost you somewhere around 2.3 lakhs on-road. Check out its price in your city here.

It does not have a very good top end but it definitely offers a strong mid-end performance.
6. Bajaj Pulsar N160
The next bike on the list is from Bajaj as well. Bajaj Pulsar N160 is the latest entrant from the brand and looks fresh.
Bajaj has made this bike mainly to be ridden in the city and has focused on the mid-end performance. As a result, the 164.82cc oil-cooled engine of the bike delivers a very good mid-end pull.
The maximum power that this bike produces is 15.68 bhp @8750 rpm and it produces a maximum torque of 14.65 nm @6750 rpm.
Power figures of the bike are really good, however, its heavy weight of 152 kg kind of lets it down. Its weight brings down its power-to-weight ratio to 0.10 bhp/kg.
Unlike other Bajaj bikes, N160 does not feel outdated. And it has even got modern touches like a digital instrument cluster with a gear position indicator and more.
At an on-road price of around 1.51 lakhs, it definitely offers good performance and value for money.
7. Bajaj Pulsar P150
One more bike on the list is from the stable of Bajaj. It is the updated version of its ever-so-popular Pulsar 150.

The low-end and mid-end performance of this bike is really good. And you will like riding it in the city. Bajaj has kept the weight of this bike in check and it weighs only 140 kg.
As a result, it is pretty easy to maneuver this bike in the city.
However, like other Bajaj bikes, it does not get features that you can boast of after purchasing. Having said that, the look of the bike feels fresh because it is the latest entrant in the market.
And Bajaj has priced it really aggressively. It is in fact one of the cheapest powerful 150cc bikes in India on this list.
8. Suzuki Gixxer
Another powerful 150cc bike available in India is the Suzuki Gixxer.
This bike is powered by 155cc air-cooled engine. It puts out a maximum power of 13.41 bhp @8000 rpm and a peak torque of 13.8 nm @6000 rpm.
The power figures of the bike may not seem much but the weight of the bike is on the lighter side. This kind of brings its overall power to weight ratio to a mark where it can compete with other bikes.
Power to weight ratio of the bike is very similar to the Bajaj Pulsar P150. And the refined engine of Suzuki really makes this bike fun to ride.
Its seat height of 795mm is also not on the higher side and even short riders can ride this bike easily.
You can expect an overall mileage of around 50 kmpl from this bike. This makes it one of the most powerful 155cc bikes with the highest mileage on this list.
